Sleepy — Baby Sleep Sounds
Privacy Policy
Effective 14 July 2026 · Last updated 14 July 2026
Sleepy has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking of any kind. Your settings and listening history stay on your iPhone. The only information that ever leaves your device is what Apple needs to process a purchase.
This policy explains what Sleepy ("the app") does and does not do with information. Sleepy is made by Tidybit, an independent app developer ("we", "us"). If anything here is unclear, write to support@tidybit.org and we will answer in plain language.
Information that stays on your device
Sleepy saves a small amount of state locally, using Apple's standard on-device storage. This data is never transmitted to us or to anyone else, and it is deleted when you delete the app. It consists of:
- the sound you last played and your timer selection;
- the start and end time of the current playback session;
- whether you have seen the one-time introduction screens;
- a cached flag recording whether you hold a premium purchase, so the app works offline;
- simple local totals (how many nights you have used the app, and for how long), shown only to you, inside the app.
We cannot see any of it. It is not backed up to any server we control, and no part of it is used for advertising or profiling.
Information involved in purchases
Sleepy offers optional premium purchases. Payment is handled entirely by Apple, and we never see, receive or store your name, card number, or billing address.
To unlock premium reliably across your devices and to restore purchases, the app uses RevenueCat, a subscription-management service acting as our data processor. RevenueCat receives:
- a randomly generated, anonymous app user ID, not linked to your name, email or Apple ID;
- the App Store purchase receipt and its status (active, expired, refunded);
- basic technical details such as device model, operating-system version, app version, and the country inferred from your IP address, used to validate the purchase and prevent fraud.
RevenueCat processes this on our behalf under its own privacy policy, and stores it on servers in the United States. We use it only to decide whether your copy of the app should have premium unlocked. It is never sold, never shared with advertisers, and never used to track you across apps or websites.
What Sleepy never does
- It has no advertising, and no advertising or attribution SDKs are embedded in it.
- It does not track you across other apps or websites, so it never asks for App Tracking Transparency permission.
- It contains no analytics, crash-reporting or telemetry service.
- It has no user accounts, no sign-in, and no cloud profile.
- It does not request access to your microphone, camera, photos, contacts or location.
- It does not send notifications, so it never asks for notification permission.
- We do not sell or share personal information, under any definition, including the CCPA's.
Children
Sleepy plays sounds for babies, but it is a tool for parents and caregivers, and it is not directed to children. It is not distributed in the App Store's Kids Category. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13 (or under 16 in the EU/UK): the app is built so that there is nothing to collect. If you believe a child has somehow provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights under the GDPR, UK GDPR, the CCPA or similar laws to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data, and to complain to a data-protection authority.
Your privacy choices explains, in practical steps, how to exercise these rights.
In practice, we hold almost nothing to give you: the app's data lives on your phone, and deleting the app erases it. For purchase records held by RevenueCat, email support@tidybit.org and we will action a deletion or export request. Because the app user ID is anonymous, please write from the device in question or include your App Store receipt so we can identify the record. Where we process purchase data, our lawful basis is the performance of our contract with you (delivering the premium features you paid for) and our legitimate interest in preventing payment fraud.
Data retention
On-device data lives until you delete the app. Purchase records are retained by RevenueCat for as long as your purchase may need to be restored or refunded, and are deleted on request as described above.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes materially, we will update the date at the top of this page and, where the change affects how the app handles information, note it in the app's release notes. We will not retroactively reduce your privacy for data already collected.
