Common questions

I paid, but premium isn't unlocked

Open Settings inside the app and tap Restore purchases. This asks the App Store to re-send your receipt, which is all Sleepy needs. Make sure you are signed in with the same Apple Account you bought with. A family member's account, or a second account used for a different region, is the usual culprit. If it still doesn't unlock, email us your App Store receipt and we will sort it out.

The sound stops when I lock the screen

It shouldn't. Sleepy is built to keep playing with the screen off and while you use other apps. If playback stops, check that iOS Low Power Mode isn't aggressively suspending the app, and that no other audio app (a podcast, a video) grabbed the audio session afterwards. If it keeps happening, tell us what else was playing.

Why doesn't anything happen when the timer ends?

That's deliberate. The sound fades out gently over two minutes and the app goes quiet. There is no chime, no popup and no notification, because the entire point is not to wake a sleeping baby to announce that the sound has finished.

How do I cancel a subscription?

Subscriptions are managed by Apple, not by us. On your iPhone open Settings → your name → Subscriptions, choose Sleepy, and cancel. Access continues until the end of the period you have already paid for. Cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date, or Apple will charge for the next period.

How do I get a refund?

Refunds for App Store purchases are issued by Apple, and we have no way to grant them ourselves. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com. If Apple declines and you think the situation is unfair, write to us anyway and we will do what we can.

Does Sleepy monitor my baby?

No, and it never will. It plays sound; it does not listen. It has no access to the microphone and is not a safety device. Please don't rely on any phone app to watch a sleeping child.

Can I use it without paying?

Yes. Eight sounds are free forever, with no time limit and no account. Premium adds the remaining sounds and the longer timer options.
